The Adult Services/Reference Department encourages the borrowing of fiction and non-fiction books, as well as DVDs by our library patrons.
- The Reference Department loans out laptops for in-house use.
- Headphones, ‘mice’ and pin-drives are also lent out.
- The Librarian assists the patrons with their computer use or online searching as needed, and answers telephone inquiries as well.
The Reference Department orders new books for the library based on current book reviews and patron suggestions, pending final approval by the Library Director.
The department takes requests for books not owned by the library and Interlibrary-loans them from accommodating libraries within New Jersey using the JerseyCat system.
Periodically the department arranges for guest speakers such as local authors or specialized presenters (e.g. a nationally known Astronomer).
