English Language Assistance (ESL) Spring 2023

The Belleville Public Library and Information Center is offering English as a Second Language (ESL) in addition to our popular English Conversation Group.

The new classes will be broken down into beginner and intermediate courses and will have course books and materials available as well.

Please note that all courses are conducted online via Zoom.us.


Course Books

Course books are now available for purchase at the Library for $40.00.

Pick up books at the circulation desk during regular business hours.


Groups

All classes are held via ZOOM from 6pm – 8pm. Registration is required.

ESL Beginner Classes

Mondays, beginning

April 17th

This beginning-level class will allow students to develop basic English vocabulary and grammatical structures so that they can successfully communicate.

The course content will lay the foundation for life skills, higher education, and workforce entry. Lessons will integrate the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

ESL Intermediate Class

Wednesdays, beginning

April 19th

The ESL Intermediate Class is intended for people who already have a basic understanding of English but are not yet fluent speakers of the language.

It is not required to have taken the beginner class to attend this class.

English Conversation Group

Thursdays, beginning

April 20th

Practice your English language skills in a comfortable supportive environment led by a facilitator.

The Belleville Public Library and Information Center’s English Conversation Group provides guidance but is also a great place to make friends.
